Ahh! You've chosen Tessellatia! I must say that I do welcome you to our humble home. I hope you enjoy your stay here. Perhaps you are wondering where such a strange name comes from. "Tessellatia? Tessellatia?" you wonder. I suppose that it is a bit odd sounding. Well...Oh, dear! I haven't introduced myself! I'm Taria, princess of Tessellatia...it is truly my greatest pleasure to welcome a curious traveller such as yourself to this world in which I live.

Now, to get to that question of yours. Tessellatia, the name of our beautiful contry, is named for the word "tessellation."

"Tessellation?" you say?

Hmm...a tessellation is a figure that is tiled accross a flat surface without any folds, bends, or overlaps. Our world is FULL of them! Our buldings...our artworks...traditional clothing...everything there is that can be made...everything other than the basic land forms, and of course, plants that grow on them, to be quite honest, is a tessellation...

Oh! You are a lucky one, visiting at this time of year. It is the time of our yearly art show! Please! Come join me in the castle...we have a pleasant display of works by a local artist, and one of our favorites, Arcadia. She has done some beautiful tessellated works, and we are quite proud to have several on display here.
